Ideally by having an outsourcing partner, you should benefit from cost reduction and high quality. Having the option to utilize a partner’s knowledge and experience to deliver results. In order for those benefits to become realistic, It is important that you select the right outsourcing partner- relatable and experienced.

One of your goals in choosing an outsourcing partner should be to spend less resources on training as your chosen partner should provide you with developers that already have the necessary knowledge and qualifications. 

In your partner’s  evaluation process have a list of requirements that will guarantee in optimum way ability evaluating meet your business requirements. 

  1. Look into past projects and ask for references-  you definitely do not want to be the first client of your partner and must understand their clients’ satisfaction and ability to deliver. You can re3fer to case studies but it is more recommended to request actual feedback from past and present clients. You could also ask for work samples from completed projects. It will provide you better understanding regarding the ability of the potential partner to fit your vision. 

  2. Focus on Industry expertise-  Deep knowledge of and experience in your industry will increase the probabilities to deliver successful projects. Prefer partners that have already a certain level of experience with companies in your field. 

  3. Have a clear assessment of technical qualifications and work methodologies – a serious partner will be able to provide info regarding the methods it uses to manage projects, track results and resolve issues. The methods include technology, manpower and strategies.

  4. Define communication channels and expectations- it is crucial to set the communication upfront, understanding what methods and applications are used. You need to guarantee the availability of your prospect partner and ability to solve problems real time. 

 

5. Analyze costs in depth- have an open discussion with the potential partner regarding the pricing model and do not hesitate to share concerns. You need to make sure that the cost matches your expectations. Avoid unexpected costs and analyze exactly what you will be paying for. 

 

Collaboration with outsourcing partners can lead into long term success or short failure. The screening process should include effective due diligence in order to guarantee the great partnership.
